Welcome to One Health Academy

Our Mission:

The One Health Academy promotes interdisciplinary collaboration among health professionals, industries and policy makers by promoting public health, as well as environmental, food, agricultural, and economic protection.

Our monthly events serve to unite Federal governmental departments, non-governmental organizations, and private industry leaders to promote collaboration through networking, discussion following educational presentations, and informal mentoring.

One Health Academy Meeting.

Dr. Mike Fallon is the Chief Veterinary Medical Officer in the Office of Research and Development, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). His office is responsible for supporting and monitoring over 70 VA animal research programs across the country. He consults with senior managers to develop animal research policy, and participates in a variety of other agency initiatives involving animals. Interests include web-based training and the application of computer technology to manage complex processes. After gaining an interest in the research environment at WRAIR during an enlisted tour of duty as a veterinary technician in the late 1970’s, he received a DVM from Purdue and a PhD in Experimental Pathology from UAB. He is boarded in laboratory animal medicine and certified as a professional institutional animal care and use committee administrator. Based in Atlanta, he also serves a the local Attending Veterinarian for the Atlanta VA Medical Center and maintains an appointment at Emory University.

One Health Academy dinner meetings are at 6:30PM every second Thursday of the month at the Capital Yacht Club 1000 Water Street, SW, Washington D.C. 20024.

There is a 50 person limit to the meeting so we suggest you register early. The cost of the evening is $15 per person and includes dinner, discussion with colleagues, and networking.
